Join fiber artist Melissa Gray for  Hands-on class where you will create your own sea turtle complete with personality.  We will build the turtle with 7 sculptural pieces and learn how to join them smoothly for natural movement and balance.

Students bring:  6” by 6” foam block (a large sponge, pillow foam)

Bio:  Melissa Gray is a fiber artist, shepherd, and owner of Southern Sheep Company.  Her flock includes three breeds of sheep, and she transforms their wool into galleried art.  Known for detailed sculpture and expressive puppets, she brings anatomy and motion to life.  Her work has been featured in several craft magazines in galleries throughout North Carolina.  With more than 20years of felting experience, she makes the art of needle felting lively and approachable.
